Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a part of Syrah for a rosé with strong and intense aromas, characteristic of the Bolgheri area. The vineyard, like the wine, takes its name from the bandit “Scalabrone” who lived in this area in the early 19th century and is located on loamy-clay soils of predominantly alluvial origin, rich in pebbles.
Tenuta Guado al Tasso is located in the small and prestigious DOC of Bolgheri, on the coast of the Alta Maremma, about a hundred kilometers south-west of Florence. This appellation has a relatively short history (it was born in 1995) but boasts an international reputation as a new point of reference in the world wine scene. Tenuta Guado al Tasso extends over an area of 320 hectares planted with vineyards, in a splendid plain surrounded by hills known as the "Bolgheri amphitheater" for its particular shape. The Guado al Tasso vineyards enjoy a mild climate due to the nearby presence of the sea: the constant breezes mitigate the summer heat and the rigors of winter, clean the sky and keep the insolation index high.
