Lazio IGP Rosso “Montiano” 2020 – Famiglia Cotarella

Merlot is a vine with a long tradition on these hills where it has shown a remarkable adaptation to all its particular pedoclimatic characteristics. Here the grapes reach an extraordinary level of ripeness, then expressing themselves in wines of the highest elegance, perfectly balanced and of notable pleasantness.

The Lazio IGP Rosso “Montiano” comes from low productivity vineyards, where the management has been more rigorous. Once in the cellar, the grapes were subjected to a manual selection, which allowed only the best grapes to be fermented. At the end of fermentation, the resulting wine was placed in French oak barrels where it was aged for 12 months.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby color. The nose is direct with notes of red fruit, spices and vanilla sensations. On the palate it is round and soft, elegant, of particular enjoyment and gustatory persistence. It is a wine to be drunk in large balloons at a temperature of 18 °, combined with meat dishes of great cuisine.

Pairings

Throughout the meal, it goes well with rich meat dishes. Excellent with a braised meat in red wine.
