Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG “25 years” 2016 - Arnaldo Caprai

The "25 years" of Arnaldo Caprai is an icon in the world of Sagrantino di Montefalco. A wine in purity, coming from the vineyards located in the beating heart of Montefalco viticulture, in Umbria. Following the manual harvest, the grapes are transported to the cellar where they are pressed. The must obtained is placed to ferment in steel containers. The refinement phase consists of a first period of aging in barrique, which lasts 24 months, and a subsequent rest in the bottle for about 8 months.

Tasting Notes

With a dark and impenetrable ruby red color. As dense to the eye as it is to the nose, rich in a layered and varied complexity. There are notes of black fruit in jam, rose and cocoa, on a spicy range of pepper, cloves and cinnamon; a balsamic note of pine resin finishes a bouquet that is broad to say the least. In the mouth the class is manifested by the softness of the tannin, which does not affect the persuasive character of the sip but, on the contrary, enhances it. A good freshness denotes a capacity for evolution to be discovered.
