The Toscana Rosso Frescobaldi Estate in Castiglioni di Frescobaldi was born in the vineyards of the homonymous estate located in the municipality of Montespertoli, in Tuscany. It is produced at 50% from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, at 30% from Merlot grapes, at 10% from Cabernet Franc grapes and at 10% from Sangiovese grapes, hand-picked from mid-September to early October. The grapes ferment in steel at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C for 10 days and maceration lasts for 12 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in barrique for 12 months and ages in the bottle for 2 months.
Tasting Notes
It has a purple red color. The nose has intense aromas of red berry fruit such as wild strawberry and currant, followed by pleasant spicy and balsamic notes of anise and cinnamon, with a slight hint of cocoa. On the palate it is long and persistent, with a good body and balanced acidity. The tannins are dense and well blended and fruity nuances are found in the aftertaste.
Pairings
Perfect to accompany game-based dishes, such as hare and wild boar, it is ideal in combination with beef, roasts and aged cheeses.
