Ribolla Gialla by Livio Felluga is a white that expresses the truest and most authentic face of the Friulian lands on the border with Slovenia. This ancient white grape variety is, in fact, the autochthonous richest in history, a true icon of this region. Generous and rich, it is a vine that, in order to give great wines, must be grown in the higher areas of the hills, where the soils are stony and poorer, in order to produce few high-quality grapes.
The version of Livio Felluga perfectly reflects the best characteristics of the grape, with delicate citrus and fruity aromas and a sip of great mineral freshness. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are de-stemmed and cold macerate for a short period. After soft pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine rests on the lees for a few months in steel tanks.
Tasting Notes
In the glass it has a light straw yellow color. The bouquet expresses aromas of orange blossom, wild flowers, aromatic herbs, fragrant aromas of apple and white pulp fruit. The sip is smooth and dynamic, with a delicate and elegant fruit center of the mouth that anticipates a savory finish characterized by a vibrant citrus freshness.
Pairings
Excellent as an aperitif, this wine goes wonderfully with battered vegetables and flans, with tasty cheeses and fish-based dishes.
