A Morellino di Scansano characteristic for its softness that caresses the palate with grace and elegance. Produced for the first time in 2000, young and dynamic, Santa Maria presents itself as a fresh, soft and fruity wine, ideal for any occasion. It is mainly produced with Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, fermented in stainless steel containers at a temperature below 30 ° C for 10 days, while maceration continues for another 10 days. Following the malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 10 months in steel and for another 2 months in the bottle.
Tasting Notes
It has a beautiful bright ruby red color. The bouquet, broad and elegantly fruity, perfectly reflects the beauty of the vintage. The incipit on the nose is that of black berried fruits, such as blueberries; these scents combine perfectly with those of plum and wild strawberry. On the palate it is lively, fresh and pleasantly silky; the fruity scents also return, reminiscent of raspberry candy, for example. Over time, these blend with notes of delicate spiciness. Overall it is harmonious and persistent.
Pairings
Perfect in combination with stewed meats, especially rabbit and chicken, it is perfect to accompany medium-aged cheeses.
