The “Vigna del Picchio” was born from a challenge: to demonstrate that an important still wine could also be obtained from Lambrusco grapes. After a decade of experimentation, the wine immediately won the positive opinion of the experts, confirming itself today with a warm and ethereal personality. The must obtained from the pressing of the grapes harvested late ferments for a long time in steel. The wine is then transferred to small oak barrels, where it remains to mature for a total of three years. A label dedicated to lovers of full-bodied and complex reds, demonstrating how even Emilia Romagna can have its say on this type.
Tasting Notes
At sight it offers a ruby red color, crossed by some slight more purplish references. Ethereal attack on the nose, which then develops on fruity notes enriched by a spicy background texture. On the palate it is full-bodied, warm, with a fruity and fresh sip. It closes with a finish of excellent persistence.
Pairings
From cured meats to cheeses, find a happy marriage with great meat dishes and noble poultry. Wonderful with guinea fowl alla cacciatora.
