The objective of the Bastianich winery is to absorb the history and culture of the area, creating unique wines that narrate the place but which, at the same time, demonstrate to stand out for their body, structure and balance. The vineyards are cultivated with effort and dedication, in full respect of the rhythms of nature. The cultivation practices in the vineyard are aimed at preserving as much as possible the vine and the soil on which it is planted and also the harvest is totally manual.
The climate and the land of the Colli Orientali are perfect places to produce a sauvignon characterized by a great classicism, aromatic and complex and the Bastianich company has been able to grasp and exploit the potential of this territory. It is a white wine of absolute excellence, capable of rivaling on equal terms with the best French interpretations.
Tasting Notes
At the sight a full straw yellow color connotes the wine in its fruit maturity and in its depth. But it is on the nose that the 'Sauvignon project' finds its sublimation: notes of pink grapefruit, citrus fruits, sage, medicinal herbs and wisteria forcefully take the place of the usual (and generally vulgar) references of cat pee, tomato leaf and pepper. . Its harmony is also found in the mouth, with a glycerine expression and a width of unexpected consistency. Acidity and pulp of the fruit work in harmony to support the pseudocaloric and material sensation of the wine.
Pairings
It lends itself to being very well combined with international cuisine (Mexican, Korean, Indian above all), as well as sushi and sashimi, differently prepared fish dishes (cruditées, fish tartare, shellfish and various molluscs), vegetable soups and white meats, fresh cheeses and mushrooms.
