Bolgheri DOC Vermentino 2023 – Antinori

Born in 1996 from the desire to rediscover a native variety characteristic of the Tyrrhenian coastal area, recognized since the 90s for its aromatic qualities. The Bolgheri microclimate, particularly suitable for the production of Vermentino both for the conformation of the territory and for the proximity to the sea, gives the wine a marked minerality and freshness as well as enhancing its aromatic component.

Tenuta Guado al Tasso is located in the small and prestigious DOC of Bolgheri, on the coast of the Alta Maremma, about a hundred kilometers south-west of Florence. This appellation has a relatively short history (born in 1994) but boasts an international reputation as a new point of reference in the world wine scene. Tenuta Guado al Tasso extends over an area of 1,000 hectares - 320 planted with vineyards, the rest cultivated with wheat, sunflowers and olive trees - in a splendid plain surrounded by hills known as the "Bolgheri amphitheater" for its particular shape. The Guado al Tasso vineyards enjoy a mild climate due to the nearby presence of the sea: the constant breezes mitigate the summer heat and the rigors of winter, clean the sky and keep the insolation index high. The first vintage of Vermentino produced in the Guado al Tasso estate was 1996.

Tasting Notes

Vermentino from Tenuta Guado al Tasso has a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose expresses a beautiful aromatic intensity, there are hints of citrus, white flowers and tropical fruit. On the palate it is sapid and of good persistence, with a fresh and pleasantly citrusy finish.

Pairings

Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with all kinds of fried food. Perfect with a prawn tempura.
