1961 is the year in which the first Berlucchi-brand Franciacorta is produced, hence the choice to remember the year in a specially dedicated line, the ’61. This Franciacorta Satèn, 100% Chardonnay, born from grapes of vineyards with a high vocation of the Franciacorta territory belongs to this line.

The harvest period coincides with the period from the second decade of August to the first 10 days of September. A soft and gradual squeezing of the grapes is the prerequisite for obtaining a top quality free-run must with which to give life to the cuvée. After the refermentation in the bottle, this bubble ages for at least 24 months on its own yeasts and for another 2 months after disgorgement.

Tasting Notes

Intense straw yellow in color and with a soft and creamy froth, it opens onto an elegant and varied aromatic range centered on notes of ripe tropical fruit in the first place, followed by distinct sensations of candied citrus. On the palate it is fresh and savory, with a good structure, very pleasant, with a clear and persistent finish.

Pairings

Excellent as an aperitif, it is enhanced with delicate risottos and fish main courses. It will amaze you in the company of Parma or San Daniele raw ham.
