The objective of the Bastianich winery is to absorb the history and culture of the area, creating unique wines that narrate the place but which, at the same time, demonstrate to stand out for their body, structure and balance. The vineyards are cultivated with effort and dedication, in full respect of the rhythms of nature. The cultivation practices in the vineyard are aimed at preserving as much as possible the vine and the soil on which it is planted and also the harvest is totally manual.

Rightly considered among the native grapes of excellence and among the most typical of the region, it is the progenitor of a red that has always been visceral, sanguine, carnal. The Refosco signed Bastianich has a strong character and a unique profile, whose vinification takes place for about 80% in large steel tanks and for 20% in small used oak barrels. From the assembly, made up of frequent battonage, a red rich in color and acidity is born, fresh and at the same time fruity, with great gustatory harmony.

Tasting Notes

The color immediately charms with purple hues that meet an always deep and dark ruby red tone. On the nose its rusticity is immediately expressed with notes of raw red meat, red fruits not always extremely ripe, blackberry and prune, cutting herbs. In the mouth its apparent roughness fully returns, expressed above all in youth, given by a sharp contrast between the acidity of the wine and its tannicity.

Pairings

Its particular combinability, given by the two components (acidity and tannin), make it a wine suitable for sauces and long cooking meat preparations such as stews and stews as well as hard cheeses based on raw milk.
