A wine that enhances the pleasant fragrance of pure Sangiovese, a historic variety of Montalcino. The vineyards located on calcareous-clayey soils give life to a fresh, mineral and highly drinkable Rosso di Montalcino.
Tenuta Pian delle Vigne, located 6 km south-west of Montalcino, takes its name from the locality of the same name on which there is a characteristic 19th-century railway station. The company consists of 184 hectares, of which 65 are vineyards exposed mainly to the south-west at about 130 meters above sea level.
The wine has a lively ruby red color. The nose is expressed with pleasant hints of red fruit, such as cherry and black cherry, with small floral notes of violet and lavender. On the palate it is fresh, fine and tasty, with soft and enveloping tannins; it strikes for the succulence of the fruit and for the persistence of taste. Excellent drinking pleasure.
Throughout the meal, its ideal pairing is with a great Florentine steak.
