Toscana IGT Rosso “Le Difese” 2022 – Tenuta San Guido

In the wake of the great success of Sassicaia and a few years after Guidalberto's bet, in 2002, "Le Difese" was born, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese that is the perfect synthesis between the international grapes grown on the Estate and the grape variety red prince of the great Tuscan tradition and a true symbol of the territory. Le Difese contaminates the local soul of the Sangiovese grape with the Bordeaux appeal of Cabernet Sauvignon, masterfully cultivated in the Bolgheri area from the noble cellar, on soils with a strong presence of limestone areas rich in marl, stones and partially clayey, up to 300 meters of altitude.

Tasting Notes

Ruby red, on the nose it expresses a beautiful olfactory profile characterized by a certain fruitiness followed by a beautiful floral tone. Even spicy and slightly balsamic sensations open to an enveloping and fine, fresh and elegant taste. A beautiful tannic texture, perfectly integrated, caresses the palate to a finish of excellent cleanliness and persistence.

Pairings

It goes very well with traditional Tuscan first courses with meat and game ragout or with roasted and grilled meats.
