La 2012 è stata una delle annate più acclamate in Champagne, considerata semplicemente perfetta e la maison Laurent-Perrier, che ha la particolarità di millesimare solo nelle annate ritenute eccezionali, rende omaggio a questo avvenimento storico con il suo Brut Millésime, un’eccezionale cuvée di rara fattura.
50% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and 50% Pinot Nero from the Montagne de Reims, only from vineyards classified as Grand Cru, this Champagne shows an impressive stylistic coherence, 100% Laurent-Perrier and is objectively very good! On the other hand, Michel Fauconnet himself, LP chef de cave, defines this cuvée as “the best ever vinified in my life”. Merit of the vintage, of course, but also of a Maison that, since 1812, continues to give flavor intertwining difficult to replicate.
Brilliant straw yellow color, it shows exciting bubbles that run along the glass and crackle on the nose opening up to aromas of medlar, cedar rind and mapo, then face powder and chalk and again toasted hazelnuts, almonds and aromatic herbs. Taste complete, creamy, with great softness but also strong, fresh and savory character at the same time, it shows an effervescent texture so dense and delicate at the same time that it caresses the palate. Long final sapid trail to clean.
It goes very well with white meats, molluscs and crustaceans. Special with buffalo mozzarella and savory pies.
