Livio Felluga's White Sharis is a beautiful, direct and immediate expression of the characteristics of the Friuli Venezia Giulia terroir. More than the single vines, in fact, what is brought to the fore by the wine are the characteristics of the soils rich in minerals and the climate with solar and Mediterranean implications of the region. The main grape is Chardonnay (70%) complemented by a balance of Ribolla Gialla (30%). After the manual harvest, which usually takes place around mid-September, the grapes are de-stemmed and left to macerate for a short period. Soft pressing is then carried out and the must is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. In wine it matures for six months on the fine lees and ends its refinement with a couple of months in the cellar before being put on the market.
Tasting Notes
The color is light yellow with bright golden reflections. The nose expresses floral aromas, hints of officinal herbs, balsamic nuances, on a soft background of ripe fruit. The sip is lively and smooth, with fruity aromas well balanced by freshness and a pleasant savory note.
Pairings
Excellent as an aperitif, it goes very well with asparagus, vegetable soups, pureed legumes and marinated fish.
