Rum Explorer is an international project dedicated to the selection of exclusive barrels, created by Château du Breuil, a well-known company for the production of the highest quality Calvados. Trinidad is produced by Angostura, the only distillery on the island, which began with the production of its first bitters in 1824 in Venezuela and then moved in 1875, where it still produces a wider range of products including excellent Rums.
Aging
Rum blend between 3 and 5 years in ex-Bourbon barrels to balance the structure. Subsequently in ex-Madeira barrels to harmonize the flavors and bring density and aromatic character, to then be brought to Château du Breuil and aged in ex-Calvados barrels.
Tasting Notes
Intense amber. Delicate hints of tobacco, cocoa and coconut delight at first glance, followed by vanilla and tropical fruit. On the palate it offers a fresh hint of exotic fruit and citrus, in particular of caramelized orange. Final at the beginning short but with a continuous evolution.
Pairing
Ideal to serve neat or with a cigar, perfect with chocolate.
