Fascinating union between the Sauvignon Blanc, Grechetto, Traminer, Sémillon and Riesling grapes and the unique terroir of Castello della Sala. The bunches, touched by the morning mists and favored by the particular microclimate, are granted to the Noble Mold, Botrytis Cinerea, which reduces the water content, concentrating the sugars and giving the Muffato its characteristic aromas. The first vintage of Muffato della Sala was 1987 and was made up of varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc (50%), Grechetto (30%) and Drupeggio (20%). Subsequently, the composition changed until it reached the current one. Muffato della Sala is a fascinating wine, expression of a unique terroir, with very limited quantities.
Tasting Notes
Muffato della Sala has a bright and intense golden yellow color. The nose is deep and complex, with citrus scents combined with delicate notes of peach, dehydrated apricot and saffron. On the palate it is enveloping, sweet but not too much, slightly iodized, with a very long persistence. He is balanced even in his youth; a wine destined to evolve over time by increasing its aromatic complexity.
Pairings
Perfect at the end of a meal, with aged cheeses, dry pastries and typical regional sweets. Excellent to accompany pandoro and panettone.
