That of Grumello is a sub-area that takes its name from the castle of the same name dating back to the 12th century. From here are born fresh and elegant wines, always characterized by a great drink and a good balance. Perhaps not as long-lived as other Valtellines, however, they are the ones that are most exalted at the table with the typical dishes of the tradition. Left to rest for almost two years in Slavonian oak barrels, then Aldo Rainoldi's Valtellina Superiore Grumello DOCG is refined in the bottle for 9 months before being marketed.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red, the nose expresses beautiful notes of plum, cherry and hazelnut. In the mouth it is fresh and velvety, characterized by a delicate and elegant tannic texture. Dry and harmonious, it closes with a slightly citrusy finish, with excellent persistence.
Pairings
Throughout the meal, Grumello is Valtellina which goes well with great meat dishes, especially baked. Roast veal.
