Prosecco is a white wine with Controlled Designation of Origin produced in Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia with the Glera (min. 85%), Glera long, Bianchera and Verdiso vines. Initially born as an IGT, it obtained the DOC in 2009 and at the same time the DOCs already present in the cultivation areas were elevated to DOCG (Colli Asolani and Conegliano-Valdobbiadene). The Cartizze deserves particular mention, produced in a restricted sub-area of 106 hectares included in the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG.<\/p>

The production of Prosecco originates like the vine itself in the Trieste Karst and in the Friulian Collio, but has been progressively abandoned in these areas and has instead found its territory of choice among the Venetian hills, in the province of Treviso where the current DOCGs are located. .<\/p>

The production area of the new Prosecco DOC is much larger than the previous one and also contains some provinces in which Prosecco had never been produced until then (Venice, Padua, Belluno) or where production had practically ceased for centuries (Trieste , Gorizia, Udine). In practice, the only province of the two regions to be excluded is that of Rovigo.<\/p>

Prosecco is the most exported Italian wine abroad and this has led to a series of attempts at plagiarism and imitation all over the world. In order to effectively protect the designation of origin it was necessary to link the Italian production of Prosecco to a specific area of origin, that is the locality of the same name near Trieste, and at the same time changing the name of the vine by restoring the ancient names of Slovenian origin "Glera "And" Glera long ".<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
