Among the producers of Roussillon, few are able to match the Domaine Lafage, if you consider the value for money. Each Jean-Marc label manages to give aromas and flavors that wines of the same category do not easily offer. No exception is Arqueta, a red wine with the Collioure appellation, which perfectly balances the six months spent in French oak barrels with surprising fruit integrity. Worked down to the smallest detail, it summarizes all the complexity of grapes harvested in old vineyards, telling the glass an immediate purity and a high-class roundness.
Tasting Notes
Bright ruby red to the eye. Fruity notes of blackberries and dark cherries open the nose, which then develops on spicy and slightly balsamic memories. Medium-bodied on the palate, elegant and silky in the drink, smooth in the tannic texture and long in persistence.
Pairings
It goes well with red meat preparations. To be paired with baked pork loin.
